At the Tira-tap
A quick and simple blip today. I liked the reflections in the glass and the glints of reflected light.
We had a quick whiz round the market -- we didn't need much, but it was a good excuse to have lunch at Maria's, where we haven't been for a while. Lunch of soup, salad, crab gratin, and a cassoulet of mussels, finished off with some crema catalana. We indulged in a glass of wine -- Maria never opens bottles, she just brings the bottle and the corkscrew (tira-tap in Occitan) and lets you help yourself. This wine, from Gascony, was excellent, very perfumed and grapefruity -- but it was the last bottle. However she now has our favourite Basque wine, Txakoli, in stock, so we'll go for that next time. Very unusual to see it outside Basqueland as the production is quite small and it doesn't keep that well.
