Bobotie

Many years ago, so many I've almost lost count I used to travel the world playing squash in a professional capacity.  Because I had to travel light the only souvenirs I could manage to carry successfully were recipe books  from the countries I was visiting.

Last night CCN and I were watching "My Kitchen Rules" and a lovely South African couple were putting themselves through a torturous few hours doing their level best to impress the judge.

It was while the show was bubbling along that I remembered my wonderful South African cook book by Rene Coetze and not only that but the "Bobotie" recipe that I had made many times from that very book.  So off to the shops today and volais, tonight we are dining on "Bobotie" served with fluffy rice, a tangy chutney and coconut.  YUMMO
