Waiting for a lift

This crane has resided on the banks of the Parramatta river for as long as I can remember and by the way I have been retired for twenty years so this would give you some idea of its age.
Originally it was used to offload armaments and ammunition brought up by barge from Sydney Harbour.

Notice the rail lines still in place that were used to transport the cargo to underground bunkers.
It's no longer used for this purpose and has become a tourist attraction known as the "Armory."
