Celebration

Little things that mean a lot. Today my friend and colleague bought cookies to celebrate the fact that she is free of cancer. I can't think of a better reason than that to celebrate.
She took part in a trial to assess the potential value of reducing the age at which routine screening takes place. An aggressive form of the disease was detected at a very early stage and was quickly removed without any need for either radiotherapy or chemotherapy. The NHS at its best. She tries not to think about what the outcome might have been had she not taken part in the clinical trial.
