Leaving the land behind..
to spend the day underwater. I like turtles, always have and hoped that one day I would get the opportunity to meet a wild one. Today, on my sixth ever dive I met two! It was incredible. Both hawksbill, one about 4 feet long which swam past us and another smaller one's silhouette from below.
On the second dive I swam thorough my first school of fish, snapper in this case. I also saw lobster, pipefish, parrotfish, puffer fish, moorish idols, a banded sea snake, barracuda, clown fish in their anemones and countless other things I haven't learnt to identify yet!
There was a strong current and I also kept losing buoyancy but didn't understand why which I found really frustrating as I couldn't just ask my instructor. The lack of verbal communication is at the same time great and relaxing but also irritating if you're a very verbal type of person who doesn't like not understanding why things are going wrong..
