The Hilton Tower....

It's a cold, wet, miserable Sunday. Apparently there's snow up in the hills again. It's put a real dampener of the Chinese New Year celebrations. But less than 24 hours ago it was like this. It looks like July with temperatures in the 80s but it's February so it's actually hovering around freezing.

The Hilton Tower is a bit of a marmite building but I have to say I really like it. It's not the tallest building in the world and would be lost on 6th Avenue or in Dubai or Shanghai. But, surrounded by Manchester's smaller buildings it stands out and can be seen from miles away from the city. We like to spot it as we come down the M6 from the north. As you come over a brow of the hill near Wigan you can see it in the distance. And, at night when they light the red warning lights, you can see it from a hill near some friend's house in north Shropshire.
