In It Together

Today we went to see the production of  Sarah's play-" In it Together" about life in rural Kent during the First World War.   Sarah is a member of my book club; the most literary member and the only one of us to venture into print. The rest of book club went to see the play to support our friend ; not needed,  it was sold out.

The play was acted out in the centre of the hall with the audience sitting round the edge on tables, including on the stage, eating tea and cake - very civilised.  The play included readings from the local newspapers at the time,  for example a notice of local companies fined for not displaying a list of male employees of conscriptable age on their front door.

We thought the play was outstanding but we would wouldn't we!
