Li'l Butchie and friend.
The wise and wonderful meteorologists did exaggerate, and Tropical Cyclone Marcia has brought nothing to my area other than another dismal day. Wind, rain, and a touch of local flooding. That's it.
Early this morning I wondered whether the predictions of gloom and doom would indeed come to pass, as the birds were very scarce. I prefer to take the word of the birds as to the state of the weather over a meteorologist any day.
By lunchtime though, they were all crowded around the feeding table, sharing the food, and in the case of my li'l Butcher Bird friend, sharing shelter with a Noisy Miner.
I wonder if it is more difficult to fly, with the weight of the water on their wings....
