A wet and windy day...
Predictably, the predictors of doom and gloom on the weather front have over emphasized the catastrophic conditions we would be experiencing in our area. Yes, the roads have had some local flooding, but nothing to the extent predicted.
The Premier of Queensland advised all and sundry to stay off the roads today, as conditions could be disastrous, and many did, clearing the way for those who ventured out. Record breaking times, without speeding, have occurred, and those who chose to take the advice of "those who know" and have stayed home for the day will enjoy a relaxing long weekend. A win/win situation for all!
Sadly, towns further north have felt the full force of Tropical Cyclone Marcia, although reports of damage are surprising little, considering the strength of the cyclone. I'm sure we will hear more news tomorrow about these areas.
So for today, I stayed indoors, with three dogs and three cats, all suffering from "cabin fever". The rain and wind continued all day, the light was dull, and my apologies for such a boring photo. The couple of birds who landed in the garden looking for food flew (or were blown) away very quickly, so I didn't even get a decent bird photo today, making today more of a recording of a dull, wet and windy day.
