Day 3 - Belgium
We went to Waterloo today. Unfortunately, after the lovely (cold but sunny)  weather yesterday it was foggy - very! This rather defeated the purpose of climbing this monument Butte du Lion which is supposed to give a panoramic view of the area where the battle was fought!

The existing visitors area is small and we saw a couple of films. The only thing worth seeing was the panoramic (oils on wood) painting that was created for the centenary of the battle, although even that was undergoing some repairs - heavy smells of cement and a freezing building!
Being the bicentennial year we had heard that it would be given some special upgrade but the new visitors centre is not off the ground - the whole place looks like a building site and the local pub food was very disappointing...
