Rotten Friday

From the moment I got up this morning, I just knew today was gonna be messy ... :o(
---
Drizzle, followed by rain, followed by heavy rain, followed by more rain, then some lighter rain, pursued by more drizzle and then some more heavy rain ...
And the sea water that couldn't be bothered to evaporate into the atmosphere before falling as rain, just jumped over the sea wall and soaked everything in pure salt water ... :o(
---
Most of the time, of course, I was a fair target for all this precipitation ... but even when I was in the relative dry, driving between jobs, the windscreen of the van would instantly steam up, which meant I had to turn up the heater and create sauna like conditions ... (there was not much point opening a crack in the side window to get any air, because by doing that I'd just get a face full of aforementioned rain) ... :o(
---
And then there were the traffic jams around town ... I'm not sure, but it seems to me that every poor driver in Guernsey decided that today was  a good time to practice their wet weather driving capabilities (or in most cases "in-capabilities") ... :o(
---
I could go on, of course ... but I don't want re-live the whole day ... :o|
---
It stopped raining when I eventually got home (2 hours after my official knock-off time), but it did remain cloudy ...
Then at about 5 PM (just as I was having a relaxing doze) I got a telephone call from a friend of mine letting me know that something I'd ordered had arrived ...
I told him I'd be there in about ten minutes and as I drove over the hill I saw that the sun had finally broken through the cloud cover ... So I quickly pulled over and caught it on my emergency camera ... :o)
