Camara de Lobos

There is now a popular walk from Funchal, all along the coastal path to Camara de Lobos. You pass the delightful Doca do Cavacas restaurant, the Yacht Club, and miles of black sand and volcanic rock beaches. It is dramatic and beautiful.

We, on the other hand, took the bus number 1 to its Termine and walked down behind the concrete works.

It was still brilliant and the waves were crashing (and soaking us).

After a Poncha in a sweet little bar overlooking the fishing boats, we took the daft little "train" up to Cabo Girao. It was stunning with views to die for (and blip, apart from the fact that I always do).

The "Rapido" home. And now I fancy a swim.
