Ash Wednesday

Lent starts today, and now that I have retired I was able to go to our 10am service.
We have a link with a Russian parish which has an icon painting workshop from which these two beautiful icons came.
I had to take the picture slightly off centre because the sunshine pouring through the window was reflecting off the gold. It made me think of the link between God-made and man (or woman) made and the beauty of both.
