3 savoury ( mince and spinach filling with a cheese sauce ) and 6 sweet with various toppings. ( aww, c'mon, don't look at me like that, I cleaned out 11 stables today then came home and vacuumed out the car for no particular reason, other than it was very much in need of it! ).

Shrove Tuesday, from the word 'shrive', to confess, repent.

Pancakes were often made on this night to use up the rich foods of sugar, eggs and milk before the beginning of Lent, where plain foods and prayer are the staple diet of many Christians for 40 days.

For me, it means I have 40 days to come up with something for Sav's birthday.
