Christmas Rose

Helleborus niger just coming into flower.  It can be in flower at Christmas but where I have it planted, in a north facing bed with snowdrops, this is more typical.  Shorter and more compact than the Lenten Rose, Helleborus orientalis, it looks good in amongst the snowies.

A dull old day, we'll really appreciate the sunshine when it arrives .... on Tuesday hopefully!
