In the Morning When the Day Is New...
Himself and me took a trip over to "the other side" today. Toolibelle has not been well, two visits to the doctors, sad telephone calls. Lack of Alcohol and parties - the typical things to make a student sad.
When we arrived she was in talking to her Mentor, advising him that she was on the mend, and would be okay for her mid-terms next week. Despite lookly slightly peaky, and a bit skinny (but that is the "thing" isn't it), she was bright and breezy.
We took her for food. That is what she likes when we visit her. To pay for food, which is prepared, and hot, and on a plate.
Since we were in the West End of the Town, we decided (well to be quite honest, I decided to take a trip to see the new bridge - I had heard this week that the spokey bits were in place.
Sorry there is no photo - but himself was in charge of the camera and his mobile photo taking skills aren't quite up to mine.
As we headed over the bridge, I began to get old familiar feelings... the excitement I used to get driving over to pick Si up at Rosyth, when his Boat came in, or when he was finishing a shift at Caledonia. Good days. And if the traffic had not been quite so heavy on and off the bridge, I would have taken a wee detour down to the dock yard, and reveled in the tingle of excitement of remembering the old days.
Tooli by this time was sitting in the back rolling her eyes. Young Love is not a thing her parents did... nor middle aged love. She has a LARGE objection to any sign of physical affection, nipple grabbing is a MASSIVE no no, and snogging is OUT.
We headed back to the town, parked up, changed her toxic bed sheets, and removed them home to burn them. I tidied up her room a bit, and steered well clear of the BATHROOM OF TOXICITY. Oh, I forgot, we also stopped by at Sainsbury to bulk out the home made chili, crisps chocolate, and popcorn.
We left and she was happy and content. She wasn't coughing up her lungs, and she looked like she was eyeing up the stock of food, and definitely contemplating a night out soon.
Lovely.
We headed home, and now I am comatose on the couch. I have decided to watch Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler, 50 First Dates, maybe The Wedding Singer... I love a bit of slush.
