A Valentine Tweeting

I’ve got to tell you most of the year
I’m not that aware of my heart
except when I have indigestion
or palpitations, or when watching 
weepies at the cinema – although 
I don’t think my tear ducts connect 
to my heart, more to a water main
(I get it from my mother’s side).

This was by way of a Valentine
to let you know I love you. But
I know what you’re thinking.
Action, not words. So as a token
of my undying affection, I found
you two lesser spotted sheepskin 
glove birds, and attracted them
to the bird feeders you bought
for the squirrels.
