Torrent Bay, a gem in the National Park
Having woken up from our interesting night sleeping in the largest bunk bed I've ever seen (7 up and 7 down), I headed for a walk while the others slept on.
I was itching to continue the next section of our walk, 11.5km today going through Torrent Bay where this picture was taken. A lovely little collection of privately owned houses. The epitome of a NZ bach, no phone reception, tv reception or electricity. Simplicity itself. Definitely worth a return visit I'd say.
Along the way to Anchorage we detoured to Cleopatra's Pool - a lovely spot but the water was pretty cold - only Catriona and Diane were brave enough to dip a toe in!
Arriving at Anchorage, we chilled for a bit on the beach before heading to our floating backpackers for a swim in the sea (me!), a shower and a nice bbq feed.
