Precious Toms?!

These were an impulse purchase on my online grocery shop this week. As you 'checkout', you are always taken through many steps where you are asked if you've forgotten anything, if you want to add anything that is on offer, if you want to add anything more from the many items you have bought in the last few years... you get the picture!

Well yesterday I fell into the trap and decided that the big bunch of juicy vine tomatoes (there were at least 6 tomatoes in the photo I was shown) looked great and at 50% off as a 'flash sale' item, were something I should add on.

I was expecting more than 2 and I wasn't expecting them to be wrapped up in straw, as if they were the baby Jesus?! I've never bought tomatoes wrapped in straw before... but given I was only sent 2, even at 50% off they were very expensive, so perhaps they needed to be protected!
