Balance of Nature

Looking down on the Water of Leith. When the river is in spate, especially after a storm, various bits of trees get washed down the river. In some places, as under the Dean Bridge, they create a log jam.

I was amazed that this log has not only managed to stop on a rock in the middle of the river, but managed to stay balanced there when the river level dropped.
