Artwork!

Determined not to blip a sky today my eye was taken by the artwork on the back of a sign post/hoarding at the supermarket today.
The works were by school children, I could not deduce the motivation of these images and no explanation evident. I did conclude  that there was if nothing else some brand placement going on ! Or am I just an old sceptic?
