Seemed a good day. Was out only latterly.

Fixed yet another laptop for a friend of a work colleague. It was near enough a complete strip of the thing to get at the broken connection to the power socket. There were bits all over (the spare areas of) the kitchen... once again. It also received a thorough cleaning out. Full of dust, hairs, and crumbs. The cooling fins which fan blows through, had an over 5mm thick felt-like layer of fluff covering them. Lovely. Should run a lot cooler now.

All the bits went back... in the correct places - no left-overs. And it works. Worst thing is that the forecast is good for tomorrow, and I'll have to take the car, rather than risk cycling in with a "just repaired" laptop.

Must order a bit for that TIG welder that's taken up residence in the kitchen...
