Icy reservoir

After yesterday’s car trip to Gladhouse Reservoir the fine weather today tempted us to walk round the reservoir.   It was a most enjoyable easy five mile walk at times through snow and ice with good mid distance views.   Many pink footed geese were sharing the field with sheep, while dozens of birds were sitting on a patch of clear water on the ice covered water but too far away to identify. Pheasants and deer crossed our path but we saw no one and although most of the snow has gone it was good to have a winter walk through snow.
