How many shades of grey?

Well, it was up and out early and off to the partners' conference on the other side of town today. I picked C up and it was nice to have some company and to catch up with her news on the way. It's odd but we sit about 15 yards away from each other in an open plan office but face different directions and rarely even say hello as I always have my focused work blinkers on when I'm there and only really converse with my immediate team colleagues. I must remedy that. It's ridiculous.

After some coffee and awkward chats between folks who rarely get to speak to each other during the working year, we sat in a large room listening to colleagues explaining how they are progressing with their business plans. At least listening to various different voices and not the usual two kept me awake though and a few colleagues did actually drop off and start snoring and were poked in the ribs several times!

I eventually got home at 4.30ish to find my lodger still here. He should have gone home this morning but his plans changed. He has kindly done some very helpful jobs around the house (to justify staying, both to himself and to me I think) and made what looks like a nice dinner so I won't complain too much.

There's some rugby on now (France v Scotland) and I'll enjoy the next episodes of Spiral later this evening.
