Sunset over a river of mercury

High tide on the Thames tideway at Mortlake. Chill winds from the northeast. A rowing coach lost his life here this week just downstream from here when his launch overturned in the dark. It is eery to think that he is still out there somewhere in the river we love and have spent so much time rowing up and down. You can just never be too careful. Our condolences go out to his family and all who knew him which were many amongst several of the local clubs and Latymer upper school.
