Rallus aquaticus

Normally a very difficult bird to see but according to my bird book they can become surprisingly bold in winter or when they get used to people. This wee bird had plenty of boldness. I watched it pottering about for ages and this was probably about the only time it deigned to glance in the direction of its admiring fans.
