Have you ever wondered where the thin willow withies come from? You know, the round, straight twigs used for basket weaving? No, neither have I, but today I stumbled across the answer. I was close to the A12 at Gt Braxted, but notably not on the A12, that was going nowhere. These stools are harvested once per year and give up to 30 withies each time.
