Cow day
Phew what a day been working non stop for 10 hours. The cattle at the farm where we manage the stock were getting blood tested today. The people we arranged to help us phoned in sick with the flu. So instead of having 2 extra folk to help it was down to just my husband and I. It was a frosty icy morning and really slippy underfoot as well as on the roads. The cows were well behaved considering how under manned we were. We were juggling 3 big groups of cows trying to make sure we didn't block ways of getting them back to where they belong. The only slight disaster was when moving the last lot the trailer with the bale of silage in it sunk and the buggy couldn't pull it out so we had to use the winch to get it out. We managed though. Good team we make didn't argue once!!
This picture is looking over the old handling system made of stone and the new one made of wood. We were fortunate to be out when the orange moon rose it was beautiful I took some photos but they didn't really do it justice. Glad to be home just waiting on the tatties cooking to go with the lamb I put in the slow cooker in the morning. Looking forward to eating then bath then bed!!
