Crossing

Crossing the Willamette River this evening I had another lesson in mindfulness and patience. Just prior to this sunset I was mad that I'd missed the ferry by one car and had to sit an extra 10 minutes while waiting for my turn. As it turned out, I'm thankful for the delay which resulted in my ability to enjoy this sunset while on the water. Somehow it seemed extra peaceful. I need to slow down more often and enjoy what's right in front of me.
