Caught in the act

Today the unknown something that has been slumbering has managed to lay me fairly low. Still don't know what, maybe it's the tubing to one kidney which is still in (operation this month). Nothing special and I hope after a good rest today will kick off again on Monday.

Did at least get out for a bit to collect Flash at the half way point on Angie's ride. Luckily we had a bit of frost and little snow last night so the snow did not stick quite as badly. However despite the wonderful sun there was an ice cold wind making it feel very arctic. Just as Flash was about to get in the car one of local hunters drove up and there followed a 10 minute chat. Important public relations duty despite fingers and toes falling off.

On the way back through the village drove around the first bend and 50m ahead waiting to go over a crossing was a police van. I would have stopped but not possible there and thought maybe they were half asleep and not have noticed me. However 20m later and all the lovely blue lights came on. Sadly they didn't set off the siren as I would have loved all the house occupants to take a peek of the events that followed

I get out of the car before the police van comes to a halt, walking boldly towards them and flipping open a wallet and holding it up for them to see. The passenger nods, the driver holds up his hand, I return to car and drive casually down the road, We have only just moved in to the village (2001) so are still "the new one's" and because of our somewhat isolated property, 95% of the inhabitants don't know what one needs to know in a village. I would love to know what rumours are now doing the rounds. GCHQ/MI5/BikerBear connections???

One certainly wouldn't find me on the autobahn or any normal fast road without having one strapped on but at times it can be useful to have a pass to allow me to drive without a seatbelt!

Shame I didn't have the wherewithal to take a quick photo. Would have made a change from Sultan, Luna and Angie cantering homeward to get out of the cold.

NB I didn't do any Photoshop work to turn the electricity poles in to trees.
