CAT IN A BOX
My new mattress was delivered this morning. Its a memory foam one as I thought that might be better for my back. It was delivered rolled up in a long box. I tried to manhandle it upstairs in the box but there was nothing to grip on to so I took it out of the box. It was still tricky as it was very heavy and the plastic wrapper was slippy but I managed to grip on to parts of it and push, pull, drag the mattress up the stairs. Tino and Lily were running up and down the stairs and getting in my way and I wished I had shut them in the living room before I started. However I got there in the end - slowly but surely. The large box proved very popular with both cats - here is Tino taking his turn.
I did the ironing this afternoon while listening to the football on the radio. Newcastle United were playing away at Hull. Newcastle won the match 3 - 0. I clapped and cheered at every goal. My next door neighbour must have been listening as well - I could hear him cheering at the same time as me.
After the match I walked to the Co-op. It had snowed through the night but by the time I went out all the snow had gone. It was freezing cold though with a biting wind.
