Gull

Went for a walk around the lake at lunchtime. There were so many birds about, it was such a treat. We saw a heron, mandarin duck, gulls, moorhens, cormorant, geese and various types of duck. This gull sat obligingly while I zoomed in. I liked the matching colours in the ripples on the lake surface in the background. It was only when I looked carefully at the photo that I realised that the gull has been ringed. I wonder if it has been part of a university research project. 

After the grey, high rise streets of London, I'm enjoying getting the chance to have some wild walks again at lunchtime.
