I had a walk along the promenade in Ramsey this morning.
This area is called the Mooragh Promenade. In the second world war the boarding houses fronting the promenade were requisitioned to form an internment camp. Unlike the camp at Hutchinson Square shown yesterday some small traces of the Mooragh camp still remain.
If you look closely at the pathway you will see rectangular patches running off in to the distance.
This was where the wooden posts were originally placed to support the barbed wire fence around the camp.
