Lambeth Walk

Since I've had the Fitbit that my daughters gave me for Christmas, I've found myself making an effort to walk more. Plus, I've always preferred to walk around London, as opposed to using public transport, so there wasn't much doubt that I'd walk to my meeting, this morning.

I've been to Bermondsey Street before but not from Waterloo, so I was taking a route that I hadn't walked before, going through Lambeth. It was a lovely morning for walking and I enjoyed walking amongst all the other people making their way through the streets. I always enjoy the mixture of building styles in London but it was almost surreal to see the Shard from this little street with its old brick built shops and houses.

I arrived in plenty of time for my meeting, so I took the opportunity to grab a little breakfast in the form of bacon omelette. The meeting itself went well and after that I decided to walk up to Euston to catch my train home. I had plenty of time because I had to dial in to a conference call before at half-one and I wasn't going to try that from the train.

I went up to London Bridge and crossed the Thames there before heading along Cheapside and Holburn. I cut north early, heading up Proctor Street, which took me past Red Lion Square, where I saw this chap, Fenner Brockway, the man I was named after.
