Strictly

Today I was fortunate to go to manchester to see the Strictly Come Dancing Tour.

We had an early start on the train, someone sat on our reserved seats to start with but we soon moved them on and we settled down for our first leg to Preston. We had 10 minutes to catch our connection at Preston. It wasn't far away but my friend with her sore knees and me with sore ears held us back a little! Why were people running? And why was the gentleman with a beard suggesting we hurried up? We didn't run just walked quickly to catch the next train to Manchester.

We sat next to a nice young couple who would probably argu by the end of the day, he supported middlesborough and she supported city, they were playing in the fa cup. One may win the other lose!

We had an encounter with a black ladybird and a gentleman from the north east who questioned if we all knew each other and if our home town was a modern town. We sat on the fence and said it was both. He also informed my friend her day would be unlucky due to the amount of steps to climb at the arena. We thanked him for his positivity.

We arrived in manchester. We headed down the walking escalater, a number of people said excuse me and went passed us, we then thought perhaps we should walk rather than stand still! We looked behind to see a train full of people and our young couple having a little laugh to themselves.

We began to walk to towards the phones4u arena. Not far we were told so we walked along slowly stopping off at debenhams for lunch. After lunch we
re assesed the situation and for the cost of a joke book Uncle Darren gave us more directions to our venue.

We arrived at the venue and it was rather unlucky for my poor friends knees but we got up those unlucky steps and into the arena. A little glass of the white stuff then to find our seats. We had to go up, to come down, so again a little disadvantaged with my friends knees and my ears but it was well worth it.

Very good seats, my friends husband did very well there and when mark wright blew us a kiss we nearly fell off our seats. Actually only I did my friend was taking the pictures. The show was brilliant the dancers great and when simon did 'the dance' it was very moving. All the dancers were great, the judges funny and a very good afternoon.

So, after a good show we headed back to the train station, plenty time, what could go wrong! Nothing. A lady in an electric wheelchair nearly ran over the legs of a homeless person wrapped up in his sleepingbag just at the same point a lady beside us tripped as she walked along and stumbled in front of us. Thankfully no one was hurt or fell. We continued our walk back to the train station. We refused to pay 30p for the facilities opting instead to pay £4.50 for two coffees and facilities for free.

Unable to make sense of the boards we enquired as to which platform our train would leave. Platform 14 heading for Blackpool. We met our young couple again, middlesborough had won, he was gloating but they were still speaking.

Our train was slightly delayed! Oh no! Would we make the connection back at Preston? It was a close one. The train was packed, luckily again we had reserved seats. We had 10 minutes to catch the train at Preston. Luckily my friend was there because I would have jumped on the train already waiting. It went to london! So we waited and as we were late the other train was late too so all was good. We made the connection and were on the final leg.

And so on to home. A long tireing day given that we both were not 100%, but it was a good day. I really enjoyed the show. I was sorry my friends daughter was not well enough to go which is why I was able to. I thank all of them for a good day out at 'strictly'
