Katie was quite excited this morning to pack her bag with her forms for the forthcoming "International Week" and a visit to school on Thursday from Zoolab. She's now chattering a lot about the insects and animals coming in to school and the Disney parade that will open the Festival of America that will end the International Week. Foundation have got "Frozen" of course.
When I picked her up from school, we popped to the newly refurbished sweet shop. Her friend was not far down the street and she asked if we could wait. As we walked along with them, they told us that they'd been separated in class today for chatting too much. They were torn between finding it funny and being put out at being split up. Poppy has a newborn baby sister. Katie was extremely proud to be allowed to push baby H for a while. She kept looking up over the handlebar to grin at her.
She got asked to write her first story today for her homework, about bug characters that she'd just read a book about. She really enjoyed writing it:
"Zak and Zee are hungry. They want lunch. Zak took him to a nice place. It had bug food. They ate all of the bug food. Zak and Zee were happy. They went home".
She needed a nudge for place but otherwise did a brilliant job of her spellings and her cursive writing. Granny and Grandad arrived not long after we'd finished. We had tea before she sat and read her second book to Grandad. They had a wonderful time upstairs playing pretend swimming and picnics and such. I let her snuggle up to me with Amazon Prime on the iPad not long before bedtime. I introduced her to the world of the Chocolate Factory and Oompahloompahs. She thought it quite wonderful. Until she fell asleep after 20minutes.
