Haymaking Time

Today Farmergirl told me that Farmerboy was working in the bottom paddocks raking the cut grass because the baler was due this afternoon.  

I couldn't resist heading around to take some photos.  I did take some photos of Farmerboy on the tractor driving huge ovals round one paddock, with another already raked in the foreground.  I rather liked them, and had intended to blip him working, but in the end I liked the varieties of colour in this one.  The gold uncut grass, the cream cut grass and the green hills and blue sky.  

When I got home from my travels in mid January I was surprised at how green the land still was in our area.  Today I realised just how much things have dried out over the past fortnight.  The lack of rain is getting to be a real concern.  With our hottest month still to come (February) we are already experiencing temperatures in the 30's.  Farmerboy was working in 35 degrees C this afternoon.

Crazy in this heat, but I'm off bush tomorrow, so I will have to back blip on Thursday.
