Aperture on Life

Working

If you've just seen some garbage as a title, I posted the page by accident.

Today was the last of the syndicate shoot days.  Beaters day on Monday and that will, for me and my dogs, be the end of the season.  I don't shoot with other than a camera and if the weather isn't tipping down, I'll take advantage of a day out without restrictions to where I have to stand.

It's been a long day.  The birds are now difficult to find so the drives are long. I took Maera home early as she was getting tired. Last year, I thought, would be her last year but, she's done really well for a ten year old, fat, mutt.

Her son, the Cocoa Bean, has come on well and behaves much better without his mother. He's in full flight here, eyes on a bird to flush. He's a good all round dog and loves to retrieve so, he didn't like being told to leave the fallen birds on the icy ponds. The ice was just thin enough for the larger Labradors to plough through but the Springers turned back unable to break it.  It would have been foolish to send out a Cocker.

So that's it, two tired dogs and an equally tired mistress.  The dogs are in their beds and I'm off to hit the sofa.
