Flower Friday ...........

 .......... and today it is a very pale pink carnation from the bunch that Himself bought me almost three weeks ago!!

Bad news and good news:  
Mum is in the hospital again after seeing the specialist for the results of her MRI scan yesterday ....... it would appear that she has an aortic aneurysm, osteoporosis, very reduced kidney function and several spinal compression fractures.  The consultant was extremely good and pulled a few strings to get Mum admitted, through A&E, on the NHS.
We went in at 19.55 Thursday and Mum finally got into the ward at 08.00 this morning ..... just over 12 hours!   
She had a CT scan which confirmed that the aneurysm is not leaking so will be monitored on a three or six monthly basis for that.  They have stopped the medication that her doctor gave her declaring it a toxic mix of drugs and reviewed her pain relief and will also start therapy very soon.  
Personally I think she is in the best place and am just relieved that we know what it is and she can start moving forward in the management of her terrible pain.

Despite the fact that we were waiting all that time (they were incredibly busy with, at one point, six ambulances queuing up outside) , I cannot praise the staff at Kings Lynn hospital enough ...... we were kept informed all the time, the staff were friendly and very pleasant as well as efficient, the place was clean and tidy, we were given tea, hot chocolate, biscuits and I was even given some buttered toast at 03.00 after the staff found out I had not eaten since lunchtime - all free and brought to us with a smile  ...... in fact we were treated like human beings and not numbers .... unusual in today's NHS system in my experience - well done those people!!!!

I won't write anymore as I walked into the house at 11.00 this morning having been up for 41 hours - I am just a little tired (in fact Himself has just woken me up as I fell asleep uploading this to my journal - lol)

A man rings his local hospital.
" How is Mr James Jackson in Ward 4B? " he asks

" Mr Jackson is out of danger and doing well " responds the nurse " his tests results were normal.  May I ask who's calling, please? "

" Yes " replies the man " it's Mr James Jackson in Ward 4B, no-one ever tells me anything "
