Lingmell

Back out with client A. today.
Hoping for Great Gable we got another surprisingly moderate day as we practised A's slowly developing navigation and mountain skills. Sat at Styhead Pass we could see the wind & cloud buffeting Gables summit - and decided that just under the cloud base seemed a much more pleasant option (though to be fair Great End was pretty claggy - but that's all part of the fun - walking into the seemingly unknown & trusting your plan).
With the summit dropped from our plans (dynamic risk assessment dyk) it gave us the time to wander on a little and admire the moody sky out to sea past the looming bulk of Lingmell - itself a beautiful mountain, all too often overlooked in favour of its better known immediate neighbours.
