Playing The Box!
Busy day, but that's week one over. Techie problems in the morning for our challenging trainee took 45 mins of my time before the day started properly and 30' of an IT guy, but we got it fixed. Then the teacher training team was told (on the quiet) to expect a fire drill at 3pm, so that meant a quick rethink of the day as 30' would be lost in an already tight day. Said fire drill didn't happen! We wound up the week at 4pm as the trainees had their live observation of experienced teachers from 4.30-7.00pm. We always ask the trainees at the end of every week how things are going and ask them if we could do anything differently or do anything else to support them better. No-one had any requests, and that includes the challenging trainee - so that's good! And he's had his chance!
Later went to a refurbished Chinese with Bb and Nicola who teaches at the British Council. There was live music towards the end of the evening including this great percussionist who played bongos and box, as they do in Flamenco in Spain.
