Pruning the Roses

I hope I didn't destroy its habitat. It's been awhile since I found any creatures in the garden, and I almost missed this one due to its amazing color--it was subtly green, brown and a bit reddish and blended in with the rose stems perfectly. I abandoned the pruning task and spent the rest of my time watching the mantis. At one point he climbed on to my hand and went crawling up my arm til I transferred him back to the rose. And it was remarkably difficult to get a passable image, in spite of taking nearly a hundred shots. Parts would be in shadow, parts in sunlight, face out of focus, body markings sharp. But it was a very patient creature. I don't see many of them here.
