Bingo!

As a child, I used to go to the bingo with my Nana pretty much every Saturday afternoon - looking back on it, it was such a sociable way to spend the day and catch up with friends (and fellow gamblers) - much more sociable than all this online stuff.

So when a friend organised a wee night out to the Royal George Bingo hall in Porty to celebrate his birthday (he's the Wolverine looking one in the background of this photo), we decided that we would go along for the craich (as the Irish are so fond of saying).  The fact that it was BYOB was a contributing factor.  16 of us descended taking up tables towards the back of the hall - we probably doubled the attendance and halved the average age.  Only one line win for the whole evening (£10 win) and not for me, but it was a good laugh and surprisingly entertaining (not that you can tell from Sam's expression here!).

Headed to the pub for some more libations afterwards - and a long cold walk home at the end of the evening - but all in all, a jolly enjoyable evening.
