Bonar bridge..

..(the bridge is behind me)..

Went to Tain today, the coldest day of the winter so far. Reports on the weather, and Facebook, said the roads were fine. They were, until we got to the Lairg road, and soon in were driving on packed snow. At Achfary, the temperature had dropped to -4, and by the time we got to the watershed it was -7. We carried on, through freezing fog, 40 miles to Lairg. The fog and roads cleared here and the remaining journey to Tain was just cold. The Struie was closed, snow gates shut, not that we were heading that way today..

Shopping done, drinks bought for the Burns night on Saturday, a Fish supper, and back home for a repeat of the outward journey. In the dark this time so we could see oncoming vehicles. (The 40 miles from Laxford to Lairg is single track with passing spaces)..

This shot taken at Bonar Bridge, toilet car park, and the lumps floating downstream are icebergs!!..
