Blue skies in Cromarty
We chased the sun today as a cloud was just covering the sun at home and we could see that it was clear higher up. It was very icy out and I hoped to go back and take some photos of the snow covered trees we saw yesterday but the sun had beat me to it and the snow had melted. In fact the snow was melting really quickly despite the cold temperature.
As we approached Cromarty the sun was shining brightly bringing that wonderful Winter light. A few boats are still in the harbour including Deep Harmony and Summer Cloud. The two larger boats that have been there all Summer must be at sea, I'll do a search later and the Cromarty Ferry was also absent.
We drove down to Rosemarkie beach for a quick look on the way home. A nearby carpark looked like an ice rink and a man was struggling to get to his car.
Bobbing up and down on the sea near the burn were about 35 Brent Geese. I've seen them before on the West Coast and the odd one here but never that many. Did nt fancy getting out of the car in case I slid over so I took a few photos from the car for id purposes. Too far away for a descent picture.
The temperature is dropping rapidly. I have a doctors appointment at 9 in the morning and not sure I'll be able to get down the hill to get there.
