IS THIS THE RIGHT SIGN?

We went to church this morning and heard about the miracle of turning water into wine - so I did think about taking a picture of a jug of water and a bottle of wine.  However, we also heard about signs so when I saw this one, I decided that an outdoor blip would be better than another indoor one!  Not quite sure how it ended up like this - perhaps a motor bike really did try to jump over a car!!

It was a sunny afternoon, although quite chilly, but we donned hats, scarves, gloves and warm coats and went out for a walk - the longest I have done since September.  We live near a local beauty spot, which is a large water park with plenty of wildlife, but sadly part of the land adjacent has been sold off and there are now two large housing estates being built.  There are several houses along the small road leading to the new development and it looks as if some of the old ones, built in 1902 will be demolished, to make way for new houses whilst some of them, after years of having a view of the countryside, will have to look out on new houses and roads and, of course, with much more traffic, the peace of their environment will be shattered.

Did they see any signs of this or were they blissfully unaware of what was happening or did they know about it and just thought it would never happen?  Do we see signs when things go wrong or are about to change in our lives - or do we just press on, hoping for the best and burying our head in the sand?

Often things change in our lives through no fault of our own and then we have to take a different path - when we discover other blessings and challenges along the way, we know the change was for a good reason.

But at other times, we make a conscious choice to change things in our lives, because of things that have affected us, and perhaps even upset us, so we have to move on.  Perhaps the signs were there and when we came to a crossroads in our lives, we had to choose which path to take - sometimes it may be the wrong one - but we can always do a “U” turn and go back.

I’m not sure where 2015 will lead me but I do know who is walking with me and guiding me along the right path, even though it may be different from the one I envisaged.

"You never know what’s around the corner.
It could be everything.
Or it could be nothing.
You keep putting one foot in front of the other,
and then one day you look back
and you’ve climbed a mountain.”
