On top of Phu Ruea

Phu Ruea (meaning Boat Mountain ) is in the northeastern part of Thailand in Loei province bordering with Laos. At 1,385m high, this is not the highest peak in the country. But it has the reputation of being the coldest place in Thailand.
When I was there, it was a mere 16ºC in early afternoon. Temperatures are much lower at night and they sometimes go below 0ºC.
It is a national park. The view on the surrounding landscape is superb. While there, a group of Thai school girls were visiting.
