Save some for later

Seriously and bitterly icy this morning.  Here it was dry for most of the afternoon but up in Yorkshire, they had lots of sleet so things are like a skating rink.  I will be going there, but setting off later. Well, the youngsters will not be quick getting up, will they :-)

When it got light, I saw a lot of blackbirds hanging around in the magnolia, waiting for me to go out and fill up the feeder and put some more bread for them. One of them didn't even budge as I topped it all up.

I hadn't even taken off my fleece when the jays came down.

I noticed that this one wasn't sticking to peanuts this morning.  He seized a large piece of bread, perched briefly, and then sped off back to the woods.
