What's in a name

Along with re-badging many plovers as lapwings the people responsible for this sort of thing decided that this bird previously known as the purple crested lourie should henceforth be called the purple crested turaco. I'm sure it didn't make one iota of difference to the birds way of life!

They are curious looking but stunningly beautiful birds. One of my great ambitions was to catch one in flight when its amazing bright red primary feathers are displayed - an ambition sadly unfulfilled.
