The Visit

This simple scene is being acted out in hospitals from St Mary’s Community Hospital to the Gilbert Bain.  A lifetime together, then, then what?   The tender touch, a few tears, the lucozade, grapes, newspapers, cards that say ‘Get Well Soon Granny’, a bunch of flowers.  But nothing can beat that comforting touch.  A comforting touch.  After a lifetime together, that’s what it comes down to.
